This is
my 15th year teaching at SLS. Before I came here, I was a “stay
- at- home - mom”. I did the normal things mothers do, cooking, cleaning,
taxi driver, nurse, coaching, etc. Finally
I decided to go back to school and fulfill my dream – teaching. I started
at SWIC, (BAC then), and then to McKendree
College where I received my degree in elementary education with a minor in psychology.
I have
been married for 32 years and have lived in Coulterville for 28 of those years. My
husband, Kenny, is a mechanic for Ameren IP. We have 3 children: Kristopher, who is a State Food, Drug, and Dairy Inspector out of the Edwardsville office. He
happens to live right here in St. Libory with his wife April.
Kyle graduated in May 2007 with a nursing degree from SIU-E, passed his state boards and now works at John Cochran
Hosp. in St. Louis. He lives in Glen Carbon with his wife, Shelly. Bethany graduated from SWIC and is taking this
year off from school. I have one grandson, Lane Wyatt, who is
the best little boy. He is definately gma and gpa's boy. He just turned 1 in November.
The students
always want to know what I do all summer. Most of my time is spent camping and
boating. I also like to catch up on my reading and sleeping.
I love
to read!! My favorite book of all time is Great Expectations. I don’t really have a favorite movie since it changes every time I see a good one. I listen to all kinds of music, including classical. ( I took
12 years of piano lessons, nothing but classical music)
